allardjd 1,853
This is in reference to texture files for static objects such as buildings, etc, not aircraft textures. How are textures scaled? If one were to take a texture file for a cottage with a door and two windows and apply it to a six-story office block would the cottage facade just be scaled up so the office building would just look like a huge cottage, or would the original texture be tiled or would there be some other result? I haven't played with this part of it but am wondering in general what is requred to apply a texture from one sized structure to another of different size. John
mutley 4,498
I haven't tried yet John, my expectation is that it would be tiled in the way you describe its application, are we expecting "Allard Towers" to spring up in Ocala?
ddavid 149
This depends on whether the original model maker used a single texture (bmp) or a tiled effect. If it's a building face, it's unlikely to be tiled unless it was a sky-scraper with lotsa windows! Cheers - Dai.
