mutley 4,495
Thanks for the heads up Simi, it looks like a nice little show, shame about there being no fixed wing on the ground so let's hope the weather holds for flying on Sunday.

mutley 4,495
Due to circumstances beyond the organisers' control, no fixed-wing aircraft will be operating from Abingdon Airfield for the Abingdon Air & Country Show on Sunday 2nd May 2010. This is due to an issue surrounding the sign-off by Defence Estates, which owns the airfield, of the licence which is required to operate fixed-wing aircraft from Abingdon for the event. * * * The show's flying display will still be going ahead as planned. * * * The fixed-wing aircraft that were due to operate from the airfield will no longer be able to do so, however these aircraft will now be operating from nearby RAF Brize Norton and flying in to Abingdon, without landing, to perform their displays. The only aircraft on the ground during the show will be the helicopters forming the static display.

simi_av8r 0
you didn't miss much mate... the weather conspired against nearly 60% of the air display...i think in all, the only aircraft flying were the Twister Duo act, Swift Glider Team, RAF VC10, C17, 2010 display Hawk, 2010 display Tucano (in WW2 colours), Tutor, RNALF F16, Delta Jets Hunter (from Kemble)...and that about the limit.. one thing that did pull a crowd was this: The new RAF C130 sporting a trial invisibility device..... works quite well i think you'll agree. mutley 4,495
A nice selection of aircraft Simi, they did well to show, I love that T-28 Fennec!
simi_av8r 0
the fennec did an exceptional show, and the radial thud as it went low and slow (as in that shot above) along the runway in a simulated landing really put the hairs up on my neck!
