DIY Collective Throttle......

Recommended Posts

When Joe and I went to Weston in May, we met the guys who developed the Dodo-Sim 206 helicopter simulation for FSX. Mark Adams and Simon Robbins had aimed to produce as realistic a helicopter simulation as was possible and their demonstration certainly showed that they had succeeded. I was so impressed that I purchased the Dodo-Sim 206 on the spot! Now, I confessed to Simon that I'd not had any success with the default FSX rotor-craft and he asked what controls I had as he felt that the realism level of the Dodo-Sim 206 really required some sort of collective throttle. The more I thought about this, the more I came to the conclusion that I needed to build one - purchasing was out of the question as the cheapest is around

Dai,

That's a very nice piece of work. I'm impressed, though would not have hesitated to cannibalize your bike for cables - a brakeless bicycle is probably safer than a fully-functional helicopter.

Superb Dai,

In true Heath Robinson style but if it works and you master the whirley-bird then well done!

(Is tongue and groove mandatory?.... Ed :thum: )

Cheers

Hi Dai',

Just me being a wee bitty pedantic, but I couldn't see your Heath Robinson collective in the actual Heli. :stars:

Now that would be something. A home built collective that shows up in your Heli's. Come on Dai you can do it. If not, I can feel an edit coming on.

Watch this space. :thum::cool::cool:

RESPECT!

I'm glad it worked for you. I might try that myself. :whis:
