mutley 4,497
Even with much better screening and stricter rules you can't chance it. The decision to divert obviously met criteria they have to make these calls.
grth_bbtt 0
It's still so so so incredibly easy to defeat the secuirty systems at airports its unbelievable. This 100ml liquid rule is absolutley pathetic. Its incredibly easy to beat! It's no suprise bomb threats are in circulation on flights
hurricanemk1c 195
Saw this on Airliners.net, and they seem to say it's a 744 - when did it change to 744 from A332/3? Bomb threats will, sadly, always stay with us, as people want to scare others
allardjd 1,853
I'm guessing that many hoax bomb threats are directed at the airline involved, in an effort to cause them expense, operational difficulties and loss of business and reputation. Whether from irate customers, employees, competitors, etc, it's a way to easily cause a lot of grief for a carrier you're not happy with. Of course, that's done at the risk of spending some time in the Iron Bar Inn if caught, but the world is full of people whose anger exceeds their intelligence by a fair margin. I hadn't heard they'd shifted to a Boeing for that run. That must be viewed as being almost treasonous in la belle France. John
