hurricanemk1c 195
Hi all and welcome to this leg of the ATWC III! Now, here at the frozen Falkland Islands, an airstrip exists. Built by the British, captured by the Argentinans, bombed by the British and liberated by the British, Mount Stanley (RAF Mount Pleasant) sits on East Falkland. A PC-6 sits on the tarmac, while an aircraft indentifying itself as 'Air Force 21' arrives in the early morning. But in the morning, a bright yellow and red aircraft sits on the tarmac The IFDG/CamSim model if you're wondering Taxing down the runway Flaps out and preparing to turn around It's tight But we are able to do it Full power please Joe! 'V1, Rotate, V2' Thanks Joe! 'Gear coming up, and flush' Autopilot on please Joe - 4000fpm climb please Climbing out Blue skies ahead Falkland Islands Settling down for the cruise Sharon popped in to say hello and serve tea and coffee - forgot she was onboard 'Coffee for me please' - Can I just have a lemonade Sharon? 'Thanks Sharon!' 'Land Ahoy!' - Joe - wrong type of transport vehicle! The future of USAF tanking me thinks - KC-X as a 767<br style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "> The sun is starting to set Mountains are impressive! Mountain flying! Getting to finals! 'ILS captured, autoland on!' 'Gear down, 3 greens, flaps out' 50....40....30....20....10....5....0 Stopping Turning off Taxing to cargo stand And ground crews are at the aircraft To get this DHL 767 to go into EGYP, a lot of string pulling and payments had to be made. So, the old Mutley's Hangar plastic came out : And a grand total of £100,000 was spent. I'll work it off Joe!
