allardjd 1,853
October 2010 Aviation Crossword by John Allard First in a series, we have an aviation-themed crossword puzzle for your...puzzlement. You can click on each of the three images below and with a right-click they can be copied and pasted or printed as you desire. I began putting these together a couple of months ago as a regular feature in the Ocala Flight Sim Club newsletter, the "Gosport", and will continue on a monthly basis until my inspiration or ambition dries up. I'll publish the solution to this one when the new one goes up next month (or you can find it in the October OFSC Gosport, available elsewhere in the MH Forums). Comments and discussion are welcome, of course, but please don't give away answers publicly. John - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - FREEBIE -> 30-Across is "DREAMCATCHER", which is an error. It should have been "SKYCATCHER", but I plugged in the wrong word. You wouldn't have gotten it from the clue. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES: In an attempt to allow non-OFSC readers of our newsletter (you wouldn’t believe all the places it ends up going) to enjoy the crossword I’ve stopped using OFSC-specific references beginning with the October 2010 puzzle. After composing the October puzzle and struggling mightily with the time and effort it took and with keeping it on a single page, I discovered that I erred in creating the original empty matrix. It was intended to be 20 X 20. It appears my fat finger must have hit a “9” instead of a “0” and it ended up as 20 X 29. Everything was done by the time I discovered it, so enjoy the extra-big one this month. It will be 20 X 20 for November.

rob16584 42
Well I didn't get the all filled in, I wanted to see how many I could get without research. But the ones I did get (about 3/4), were all correct. Looking forward to the next one
allardjd 1,853
Nobody says you can't have lookups. Why not ration them - allow yourself five for the whole puzzle, or keep track of how many you needed and see if you can do next month's with one less. Of course I may get more diabolical...
