TapA321 0
Hi guys, Just noticed the last few days when I've been using youtube that whenver I'm watching a video, and then click to watch a new video... the old screen (where the vid used to be) is filled with a temporary image, either from youtube, or sometimes from a different site that I visited earlier. It's hard to explain, but here's a screen: As you can see, the "old" video, is filled with a temporary viewing from a previous screen. I've only noticed this in the last couple of days and wondered if anyone else had noticed it too?? I just wanted to check to see if it was normal... Cheers! George
mutley 4,495
Hi George, That doesn't look normal, try clearing your temporary internet files.
TapA321 0
Hi George, That doesn't look normal, try clearing your temporary internet files. Hi Joe, I've tried clearing the temporary files. Now I've found out that my Dad's laptop also does the same thing. Could you check your youtube please? If you go onto a video, then look at a different tab in the browser, then go back to the video tab and click on another video (in the sidebar or something), there should be a temporary image of the other tab before the new video loads. At least that's the problem for me anyway. EDIT: New thought: I think it could be something to do with the recent update for Adobe Flashplayer. I know that an adobe flashplayer update appeared on my computer desktop a few days ago, so could that be something to do with it? My Dad has done the same update too on his laptop. My Mum's laptop, however, does not have this problem, and I don't think she has the latest flashplayer... Any thoughts?? Cheers, George
mutley 4,495
I had an Adobe update too and loaded it, just trying YT now
mutley 4,495
Sorry George, it is working fine, no lingering shots from the previous video. I have checked my update status and I am fully up to date. This is a persistent problem? Try restoring Windows to a previous point. Joe
TapA321 0
Joe, Yep the problem is persistent. Have you the version 10.2. etc.etc? I have that one. Could it be something to do with operating system? I am using Vista x64 .. Dad x32, however Mum is on Windows 7 and I believe you are too? Maybe that's why it's working fine on yours? mutley 4,495
George, I have version 10.0.1.434 it wont let me update to any newer, Windows 7 64 bit here on my laptop, YouTube still ok, I keep trying to brake it
TapA321 0
Hey Joe, I don't know if that's the newest version, but mine says 10.2.152.26 If you don't notice it within one or two video changes, then the problem definately isn't on your PC. It's not really a problem, but it kind of annoys me that it doesn't work how it should. Am I right in saying it's not computer-specific though if mine, Dad's and Sister's computers all have the same problem? Cheers, George
TapA321 0
Joe, Hardware acceleration unticked on Flash settings solves the problem. After reading up more on this, it seems lots of people are having many problems with the new version. Some as far as youtube not working at all, and some people are even experiencing blue screens. Possibly an update to avoid (at least without research). Thanks for all your help, George
