Long time, no post here in screenshots, so to resolve this I took on the the Royal Navy's Hunters 'to sea' via an American Nimitz Class aircraft carrier The history behind this Hunter T.8M is great. She was fitted with a hook so that raw students to get used to throwing a jet into the wires. This was done on land, with a nice, big runway. I, however, am a raw student in Hunter operations (although have out a Swordfish and Gannet into wires and landed a Meteor NF14 and F8 on board) OK - here we are on deck The cockpit - not the best for carriers, but better than some I have experienced! Canopy closed Start up has been approved and that Avon whines up Taxing to the 'cat' Ready Cat armed, blast ramp up Up, up and away! Gear up! Turning to downwind Abeam carrier Extended downwind Hook down! Turning for the finals Gear down! Flaps are slowly coming down On finals From the cockpit Short finals! Hook's caught the wires And to a standstill Another circuit was done, to show the error in the model As she catapults off the carrier, the nose dips down into the carrier, but a normal 'cat' still goes on Gear up! Final fly-by - the landing deck officer was shouting 'Wave off! Wave off!' - I was doing about 0.7M! Thanks for viewing! Kieran Link to post Share on other sites

hurricanemk1c 195 Posted May 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2011 I use both Joe - mainly FSX for carrier flying and/or VFR, FS2004 for airliner traffic with complex aircraft - easier on the system!
