ddavid 149
Lucky to get out unscathed: Wonder if they'll rebuild... Interestingly, she was in the UK in 2008 - transatlantic flight via Goose Bay and Narsarsuaq - and has had a terrific history. More here. Cheers - Dai.

SEATAC 400
Dai, that plane is a total loss. There's nothing left to rebuild. At best, they can scavenge a few spare parts for their other B-17.
needles 1,013
John, what are you doing mate? That's two bad, sad stories today. Has someone more powerful made you the bearer of bad tidings today?? Hope there is nothing more to report today. Just glad they all got out alive. Real shame, the Liberty' was a great looking aircraft. Regards :001_th_smiles89:
allardjd 1,853
Unusual and interesting RW aviation articles tend toward the bad news end of things, Brian - not always, but often. I thought the demise of an airworthy B-17 was noteworthy and the heroism of the blimp pilot was worth taking note of too. On the good news side, thousands of airliners arrived safely yesterday, but I didn't think that would interest anyone. John
