dodgy-alan 1,587
It looks like something out of Thunderbirds!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbfZxvsDp3c&hd=
dodgy-alan 1,587
I suspect it may not be all it seems as it seems to feature in an advert for Nissan on another video! Could well be a deliberate set up. Still loooks good though.
mutley 4,498
Yeah I reckon it's part of an advertising stunt especially when the guy mentions the "pro 4 X off-road package so this machine can handle some pretty rugged stuff", also the invite to see more later! Not only that this just wouldn't be allowed in the RW!
ddavid 149
AN excellent erm, fictionalisation: Had to look twice, though! Good catch, Alan! Cheers - Dai.
hurricanemk1c 195
I could tell as soon as I saw the aircraft - I think it's supposed to be a 727 with winglets, but the cockpit is all wrong and it does look like CGI. And the landing speed of a 727 is around 130-140kts (at least that's what I put her down as), so can a Nissian 'pick-up truck' really do 140-odd mph and accelerate that fast But it was a half-decent hoax, thanks for posting Alan! allardjd 1,853
Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see... It's a well-done hoax, but a hoax none the less. John
Tim_A 997
Too many conveniently positioned cameras and camera angles, and the footage is too "good" for it to be real. And that's before you start thinking about the 140+ mph pickup truck! I have no idea what the plane is supposed to be, but you *can* land a Piper cub on top of a truck, with both doing about 60. But it takes a lot of road. (also I think in Thunderbirds it took them at least 10 miles or runway -- or was that one mile of runway 10 times? -- to get the trucks in position) Still, a fun piece of fakery
