UKJim 502
Hi 'hurricanemk1c' can you please tell me the model plane that is in your signature please? Or anyone else for that matter - I am looking for a mini jet to travel some miles in and thats looks great. I have the dual prop duke but fancy the jet Any other suggestions would be good too - looking for private jet style Cheers, Jim
ShrewsburyFC 215
Hi Jim, im not sure what the plane featured in Kierans signature is, but if your looking for a reasonably good private/executive jet take a look at this one, its at an excellent price at the moment aswell £3.99: http://www.justflight.com/product.asp?pid=229 Hope this helps, Sam
hurricanemk1c 195
Hi Jim! It's Flight1's Cessna Mustang VLJ (Very Light Jet) - http://www.flight1.c...oduct=f1mustang I don't actually have it, but it was the banner for the Around the World Challenge (a series of flights done around the world by various members) The one George (TapA321) has put up looks good enough for a start - the Mustang I think is a very systems-heavy aircraft, so maybe not the best if you're just starting on jets And don't be afraid to use my name, not just my screen name! Tim_A 997
I've just got the F1 Citation Mustang, and it's very nice. It's a good transitional aircraft for jet flying, since it has a G1000 as the main panel and is certified for single pilot ops. Flying it is actually very similar to the F1 T182T, which I reviewed here a week or two ago, but with a bit more sophistication - the autopilot is mounted on the glare shield 'airliner style', and there's an FMS style keypad for flight plan entry (although, as with the 182, it will take a standard FSX format flight plan). The aircraft though is a bit of a frame rate hog, and does' feel quite so polished as the 182. You'll need a fairly powerful PC for it. I've just finished my first flight in the 'Stang -- Biggin Hill to Stornoway -- in exactly 2 hours, which included figuring out the systems. (I'm on my way to Florida for some sunshine! Next stop is Iceland...) I'm definitely not a 'systems pilot' (you'll never persuade me to recommend an airliner), and I wouldn't regard this as a systems-heavy aeroplane. But it's definitely a high-and-fast-IFR bird.

UKJim 502
OK I looked at the reviews etc and videos last night for both and chose the F1 Mustang - had a quick 5mins last night to fly it before I went to bed (work in morning so earlier night) I just wanted to see how it flew so I chose active runway and did not start cold and dark - pushed the throttle bit of rudder trim and away I went. Have to say I climbed to 14,000 feet in no time and the views were amazing. I will have another go tonight cold and dark maybe put the red carpet out for my first true flight. The signature made me think I should take this plane and maybe go around the world. It would take me a long time as I don't get to fly much in the week due to work and having a son to look after etc, but still it would be good. I tried using G-Plan but the map was killing my system so I think I will plan it on a flight by flight basis - I will probably fly high over the sea and keep it to around 3,000 feet in land.
