This is how some of us spent our day yesterday - showing some retired veterans the ins and outs of Flight Sim. This site is our local newspaper's on-line presence. mutley 4,498
Thanks for posting John, it's nice to have a feel-good story for once. That's a great article for the OFSC and quite rightly as you are offering a unique and priceless service to the Vets. Shame it was a Just Flight Polo Shirt day!! hurricanemk1c 195
Great story John - well done! Knowles said he puts on a headset and flies in formation at least three days a week with other enthusiastic sim flyers in Ireland, England and Australia Interesting - although I'm not the Irish one! Just shows how much of a network flight sim creates!
allardjd 1,853
@ Joe - MH Shirt was the intended garment, but found at the last minute it was in a pile of laundry. Had to settle for second best. @ Kieran - Wayne is an avid multiplayer flyer and is not exaggerating. He's got some UK and Irish buddies he is very close with. They loved the talk and the flight demo, but very few wanted to go hands on, which disappointed us very much. We had five FS setups there and could have done it with two. Steve Austin (not Steve Jones - we had a Steve Austin and a Dave Jones there and they cross wired the names), among other things did three carrier traps in the F/A 18 in Abacus Flight Deck and did very well. He spent a lot of time practicing ahead of time and pulled it off very credibly. John
