I just mocked up a quick flight plan to take a look at some of the POI's around Sydney and also of course the opera house - finally landing at the military base

It had to be a quick one as I am not sure how much time I have today to play (7 month old son needs some attention)

I will post pics as soon as possible - hopefully they will be good

The Plan:

Thanks Joe, I am loving Australia at the moment hehe - just did another tour that took a tad longer but I will post in a different thread. Hope you don't mind all the screenshots? I get a bit carried away :)

£85 for gold, blue, green and red

I would say go for it and then go grab hold of OZX too for the airports

low and slow is your thing then you will like this scenery, but if you havent already get the Orbx PNW first as I think it is slightly better :)

You won't be surprised that this is a popular trip to fly RW (with some differences...), and it's usually combined with the "Victor 1" coastal route at not above 1000ft (I've flown that RW, and Bondi beach from 500ft is interesting! :D )

If you're interested, these are the RW procedures for flying around Sydney in a light aircraft: http://www.casa.gov.au/wcmswr/_assets/main/pilots/download/sydney/sydney.pdf

Wow! Page 75 gives some good details for Sydney - I like the rest of the book too because I do not know Australia that well for site seeing and this gives me some direction at least.

Thanks a lot Tim it's an interesting read.

RW = Real World? Just checking because Im still noob in the aviation/sim world ;)

Yes, back in 2006 I visited a friend in Sydney who rents an Arrow III based at Bankstown (Schofields, if anyone knows it), and one day we went out flying over the heads and down the coast (not forgetting the Tyne Bridge of course)

This was kind of before the days of blogs, but I have a write up of it still on my old site: http://www.arnot.flyer.co.uk/id214.htm
