Spit1 has its first outing, clecos and all, although sans wings.

The all new 'PulsR' flexwing, just unveiled today

img0667pv.jpg

Gyrocopters have come a long way since 'Little Nellie'!

You've no doubt seen the FSX Foxbat from Rick Piper. Well, it's evolved into the EuroFox, recently made available in the UK, and what a nice little plane it is. This is the tricycle version, but it's also available as a taildragger.

And the panel.

The RC fliers were netted off in a corner of the exhibition hall (and the net was catching a few planes too!). This is a selection of the planes being flown. They are all RTF kits; there were no home-brew planes on show.

Several stands were showing LED-based lighting clusters. These are running lights; the landing and taxi lights couldn't be shown for long at a time - they were just too dazzling.

Three little flexwings, all in a row...

Even a microlight can feel like an airliner! (notice who's in the back seat…)

Glass panel in a microlight!

The Pioneer 2 seater from Alpi. They also make 4 seat Group A aircraft.

Somehow, I thought of Jack...

Truly impressive glider sim. Three 42" panels give practically a 180 degree field of view. Each screen is driven by its own PC. Very smooth, although there was a little bit of lag between the screens. There's an instructor station in the back seat of the glider. The sim is Condor.

If you want to build a sim panel, this has to be pretty much the ultimate. Twin Garmin G300s, plus a GNS430, nav, radio and audio boxes. But this is no sim; it's the real deal!

For anyone in the area, the show is on till Sunday 27th, and is well worth a visit.

Some nice stuff on show - bet you wish you had bottomless pockets, eh? Thanks for sharing - maybe I can take our grand-daughter some day... :whis:

BTW - are you involved in the Spitfire build? That's a super project - looking forward to seeing it in the air. :thum:

Cheers - Dai.
