ShrewsburyFC 215
As most of you know I have just completed my simple mooney repaint for fsx, but I have had a number of requests for a FS2004 version of the repaint, so basically how do I make a FS2004 version of the repaint? Presumably the textures are the same, but I dont know about configs, etc... Please note - I do not own FS2004 so hopefully I can work around that. Thanks in advance!!! mutley 4,498
Hi Sam, The fuselage textures should work with FS9 but I did notice one dds file in there which is incompatible with FS9 , perhaps Max could try it out? Cheers.. Joe
ShrewsburyFC 215
Thanks for the quick response Joe! Which dds file wasnt compatible with FS2004? also what are FS2004 textures saved as, are they bitmaps? Thanks in advance!!!
mutley 4,498
Hi Sam, I had a quick look in your texture file, I reckon there are only three files that are needed: CARENADO FUSE1 M20J.bmp CARENADO FUSE3 M20J.bmp CARENADO M-20J WINGS.bmp If a FS2004 user made a copy of an existing texture file, renamed it to texture.N9152Q and dropped in the 3 files in above to over-write the existing ones I reckon the jobs a goodun. Cheers, Joe
ShrewsburyFC 215
That was exactly what I was thinking, So they would need to: Make a copy of the blank textured mooney already provided with their Carenado Mooney They would then need to rename the texture file to - texture.N9152Q Then they would need to copy the files: CARENADO FUSE1 M20J.bmp / CARENADO FUSE3 M20J.bmp / CARENADO M-20J WINGS.bmp from my download. Into their newly copied Blank Mooney, then paste them there, and overite the original blank texture files. Then they would have to copy the contents of their Carenado Mooney aircraft config, which relates to the blank mooney they just copied, and replace where it says "Blank Mooney" with "N9152Q" (Im unsure if a FS2004 config is similar to a FSX one so im only guessing what it may say). Then they should save the newly edited aircraft config. Then open up FS2004 and hope that it has worked!! Hopefully Max will be able to test the method out. Thanks in advance!!!
