The Statuscruiser, Part 1.

Recommended Posts

Greetings folks,

May I present to you the Boeing's Model 377 Stratocruiser, the early post-war airliner whose luxurious Pullman-like comfort earned it the reputation of being the Queen of the Sky — and the nickname, Statuscruiser. If you would like to know more about this early Queen then check out this link HERE it has lots of cool info.

This first part covers her daytime KJFK boarding & takeoff to the beautiful sunset over the Atlantic Ocean as she heads into the night for her overnight Transatlantic journey.

Enjoy these unedited screen shots:

when i were a lad (as the saying goes ) we lived in the bahamas and used to come back to the uk for a holiday i have many memories of flying from london to shannon to goose bay or gander then new york then Nassau. we rarely arrived at NY with all 4 engines running !my father being a pilot for BOAC would simply disappear downstairs to the bar where he would hold court and mum and i would have to sit upstairs. however there was one bright side they had beds at the forward end they looked like a bread bin with a curtain so i would be put to bed there. this sim has rekindled those memories, it is difficult to fly properly but gives you some idea why it took 4 to fly it
