jaydor 345
The annual check on the Navaids throughout the country is ongoing; and today was a visit to the Brecon Beacon DME/VOR. A local trip for me as I only live 6 miles from it futher down the Rhymney Valley in South Wales. A morning pick up of the 2 engineers from Cardiff Heliport: Looking for a level landing spot: While the engineers get on with it, we take in the view. What looks like a cliff face on the hillside oposite is the South Wales fault. It travels from Swansea to Abergavenny and that slip of the mountain buried a colliery in the early part of the 20th centuary. So why they built the beacon on a fault line is back to good old planning: Above the tail you see a forrest that I spent the 1976 drought season continually extiguishing fires that were deliberatly lite by local *****. As someone once said "Never has so many Firemen been run ragged by so few" Real life shot of the beacon: Horizon VFR GenX have done well to model the beacon in the latest package.. mutley 4,498
Different and interesting post James, I remember 1976 vividly, still can't believe why those arsonists do it? Kids maybe looking for attention or fame?
jaydor 345
Could not resist making up this, to place on the Helicopter front doors. The wording underneath says *on call air support*

Cardiff Heliport is in the new Cardiff Xtreme from UK2000 FS9 and FSX Mmmmm, friends in Myddfai? Any royalty?? Well my Friend Annie would thank you for calling her that. She works in a nursing home and is a real diamond. She has a heart of gold and is a really lovely woman. I used to work with her when she lived in Bognor. her claim to fame was when she accidentally flashed her Boobs to all the lads in the warehouse, She was taking her jumper off and her T shirt came with it...so did her bra!! Happy days all round! Thanks for the info on the scenery, I'll look out for it.
mutley 4,498
You need to get FSX (Or P3D) Alan, you can't put it off any longer!

dodgy-alan 1,587
You need to get FSX (Or P3D) Alan, you can't put it off any longer! I took FSX OFF Joe as I couldn't get on with it. The camera angles I found were too distorted for some things and It just didn't work for me. I know quite a few people who have done the same thing. I also found some of the controls that I am familiar with on FS9 had changed as well. It's been put back in it's box.
ddavid 149
James, the sheep isn't "see through", it's a Nelson (South Wales Mountain) and has a brown tuft on the neck behind the head. So now you know, Bach!!! Cheers - Dai.
