britfrog 180
Morning All, Sorry for causing all this grief if only the FAQ's on picassa were written in something recogniseable as English not computer speak I might have figured it out without all the bother. The pic of the MIG 29 was taken from a c207 with the doors off for the photographer the CAA must have been having collywobbles as we did several passes on the barrier at very low altitude with inbounds to heathrow passing overhead and threading in between london city arrivals. we were flying flat out and he was flying with about 15 degrees alpha 5 knots above his stall speed. This pilot alexei was the guy that banged out later that year at the Paris air show. Great pilot Later that weekend after the biggin show had finished we all met up in the hospitality suite with all the russians and their support crew, Boy can they drink!! at some point in the proceedings one of the Biggin staff announced it was his birthday so they sang him happy birthday in Russian, well the sound was incredible a mixture of a welsh coal miners choir and shades of Dr zhi***o, it reduced the birthday boy to tears and most of the rest of us just stood dumbfounded as to what we heard , it had gone on for about 10 minutes. Happy memories The second pic of a piper i was flying was going to be for Name that plane and place competition
