Vulcan flies again!

Only one more test flight before she can resume public displays..

Mission accomplished: XH558 is once more, the world’s last flying Vulcan. We need at least one more test flight before we can give a public display, so fingers crossed for the weather. Here she is, taking to the skies earlier today. Thanks everyone for your support.

Wow - they turned that around pretty quickly. Great work.

Hopefully they have seen the need for being a little more professional and procedure driven with a one-of-a-kind treasure like that in the future. That whole accident was patently preventable and only dumb luck kept the initial event from destroying the airframe in a fire, maybe with some loss of life thrown in. Being lucky is great, but it's not reliable, and depending on it isn't a particularly good way to run any organization.

She flew at R.I.A.T on Saturday for about 15 mins, before landing and going on static display. A wet start and finish but in between times all was well...some sunshine even. Certainly worth the 5 hour round trip. Arrived at 0730Hrs, departed 1400Hrs. Just can't be doing with mass exodus from these large events. Much prefer to leave in comfort and have the roads to myself.
