britfrog 180
is it just me ? but I find it weird that we are all running 64 bit systems and 32 bit browsers so I installed waterfox (the 64 bit version of firefox) which comes with a version of adobe flash player and silverlight and it seems pretty good it doesnt seem as rapid as the 64 bit version of internet explorer but I dont use that i use firefox , it has to be the way forward? has anyone else tried it? what are your thoughts? mutley 4,498
Thanks guys I would probably have a look at a new browser but after reading your views I will probably stick with Chrome. Cheers, Joe
Tim_A 997
Chrome is nice; I like Chrome. I like Safari too. There's so little actual 64-bit stuff for Windows, despite it having been a 64-bit OS for, how many years? This is one place where I think MS really should take a leaf out of Apple's book and quickly deprecate older architectures.
britfrog 180
ahh well the way it was written up it seemed like it was mozilla, i would have thought if mozilla had nothing to do with it they could stop it a bit weird that especially knowing how the americans dont like competition. I also am happy with firefox 32 but thought I would see what 64bit stuff was floating around.
allardjd 1,853
I wonder if there's really any significant benefit in 64 bit over 32 bit for applications? Obviously for OS, file systems, address busses, etc, it makes a lot of sense, but does that necessarily carry through for apps? John
