SEATAC 400
Some photos of the Endeavour arriving at Ellington Field in Houston, TX, along with the T-38 chase plane.
hurricanemk1c 195
That T-38 looks so small compared to the Shuttle, let alone the 747! Great shots Richard!
allardjd 1,853
The T-38 looks like he's tucked in tight in that first shot - maybe just a camera angle effect. I don't think I'd want to get wrapped up in the wake turbulence from that aerodynamic mess in anything. John
mutley 4,498
Just fantastic shots Richard, Oh how I wish I could have witnessed that. We have seen the Shuttle close up with John Allard at the Kennedy Sace Center but it was static. Cheers Joe

As I was watching it I thought he was awfully close to the 747 also, but as they continued to bank I could see the T-38 was not all that close. But i am sure they are both excellent pilots
dodgy-alan 1,587
Again fantastic pics, I can only imagine what the wake effect of that lot must be like. I once saw a light aircraft hit the wake of a Panam B747 when they first started flying into LHR, the light was thrown all over the sky and finished up crash landing on the airport and sliding to a stop under a Viscount! This was when Hunting Clan still had a light aircraft base at LHR (where T4 now sits) It was not long after that they banned light stuff from the airport.
