mutley 4,498
Has anyone got this yet? If so, what is your take on it. Have you tried it in any flight sims. It would be good to get your insight. I will be sticking with Windows 7 for a while yet!
allardjd 1,853
This is second-hand information, but for what it's worth... A very computer-savvy member gave a Windows 8 presentation at one our local flight sim club meetings a couple of months ago. He had been using a pre-release version of Win 8 for several months on a pretty high-end, self-built PC. He uses FSX with the Captain Sim 777 and some other high-end airliner types. In general he reported good performance and no specific problems using FSX under Windows 8. John
hurricanemk1c 195
Apparently, according to the iFly team, W8 and FS9 don't get along. In FSX/P3D, the gauge typeface goes bolder than it should
mutley 4,498
Thanks Mike, This pretty much confirms my fears. As I see it, for me, there's no need to switch to W8 unless I use a touch screen or want the same OS running on my tablet. As I have an iPad it's certain I won't be going near Windows 8! jaydor 345
I had known early in the year that 8 was going to be a pain with FSX, so invested in windows7 ultimate before they went off the shelf. Glad I did, it's a dream with FSX.
