dodgy-alan 1,587
Probably the most famous Helicopter ever built, Sikorsky SH3 Sea King number 66 was made famous by her use as the recovery aircraft for the inbound Apollo Spacecraft missions, She was a standard aircraft straight off of the flight line but once the news hounds picked up on it she became something special. After the Apollo missions ended she was renumbered 740 and returned to her normal role of Anti-Submarine work, Sadly she was lost in a training accident off the coast of San Diego in 1975. Attempts were proposed to recover the aircraft but as she had broken up it was never achived. Several aircraft have been painted up to resemble 66 in aviation museums. Thankfully she flies again in FS........ over the USS Stennis Thanks for viewing

brett 2,316
Good stuff Alan. Liked the shots of the old and newer birds together. Although the latter is much more streamlined now, it hasn't lost the original styling by much. Great use of background objects as always.
