It is a Sino/Pakistani design built for the trainer and light strike roles. It is currently still in production and selling steadily, There seems to be a myriad of different versions. more information can be found here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hongdu_JL-8 This model is from Gmax Academy for FS2004, gmacackarakorum.zip It is a complete package and is delightful to fly. Controls are very light , it is stable in level flight yet very responsive and agile when required. Alongside aircraft such as the BAe Hawk and the MB339 it is a welcome addition to the trainer hangar. This then is the K8........ mutley 4,498
Great shots Alan. That aircraft looks to have designs from other aircraft, some of the shapes look very familiar!
dodgy-alan 1,587
at first glance I thought it was a Hawk - good pics. What's the VC? like PS I'm not stupid - at 2nd glance I thought WTFIT Hi Mike, the panel is fairly comprehensive without being over fussy, The Chinese aircraft have an older feel to them in real life whereas the Pakistani built aircraft have glass cockpits apparently. The one supplied seems to be a compromise between the 2. I may try swapping it with the panel from a Hawk or MB339 to see if thats any better, Obviously it would not be accurate for the aircraft but then niether is the one supplied as far as I can tell. The VC is basic but functional, It all works but the detailing could be better. It seems to have been made user freindly rather that truly accurate. (I could be wrong, having never seen the real thing I've nothing to go by! Maybe it really IS like that! ) I'll post some pics when I get a chance. best regards, Alan
