Something different.....and rare!

You may remember this topic from a few months back, well the model has now been updated for FSX !(The good thing about that is the fact that as it was originally for FS9 it still works in that format as well so I can still use it!)There are 2 seperate files, one for the original prototype and the second contains the 2nd prototype and 2 airline liveries. There is a brand new panel and the sounds are now based on early B707s...in other words they scream! and boy are they loud! if you wear headphones watch your ears! Also like all aircraft of this era, power comes in a lot slower than modern engines, (something to remember on approach)They fly beautifully but like all 1950s/60s aircraft their response is nowhere near as crisp as something like a B737. She gets a bit squirrely if you try to go above 300kts below 15'000 ft but above that she'll get to well over 400kts

Landing speed is very low and I've been able to control her down to around 80kts! although at that speed she is very sluggish in lateral control although pitch remains good. Rollout is short and taxying fairly easy. Anyway, it's a FREEWARE model now as opposed to donationware as it was when I got the original. If you want something very unusual from a bygone era, this is well worth downloading.

Had the Russians not stymied the production of the aircraft I think it could have evolved into a successful aircraft. The russkies wanted the market all to themselves and that was that sadly

Kool beans, Thanks for the link Alan. Can't wait to take her for a spin(earphones incl.). :D

You'll enjoy it, remember what I said about handling though, slow and progressive like all early jets were. No FBW on this bird. She tends to lift off fairly flat rather than pitching up but then pulls the nose up once airborne.

Enjoy! :D
