I believe we saw this here already but not the closeup pics of the road shots. dodgy-alan 1,587 Posted January 8, 2013 Report Share Posted January 8, 2013 Look out on the tube for the Vanguard arrival at Brooklands, it did a similar sort of thing, oddly enough BOTH aircraft are powered by Rolls Royce Tynes ! Many years ago another Vangaurd landed heavily at the start of the runway in thick fog and actually broke the main spar! I wonder if there was some sort of inherrant problem with long houred Tynes that makes their power responces a tad slower than they should be when needed, ie on a botched approach.
