Scenery and Airport update question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Been humming along fine till I ran into this odd problem. I'm flying the Just Flight Hawker 800XP in Hawaii. I do have addon scenery and I did the scenery update when I first started the company. The first screenshot is within Air Hauler. The second one is without Air Hauler; that is, just running the sim alone. Anyone have any ideas? It was working before....just started today. I am asking here rather than on Slopey's forum because I am running Air Hauler in Prepar3d with Slopey's approval but with the undersstanding that Air Hauler is unsupported for Prepar3d. I'm ok with that; I love the program. Anyway, I'll be very grateful for any suggestions.

The way your aircraft "hangs" to the right in the first shot, I'd hazard a guess that you've been a victim of airhauler's atrocious weight distribution. As a rule of thumb, you'll have to correct the weight distribution manually for every AH flight, because the program itself makes the worst possible job of it, routinely misbalancing your aircraft beyond reasonable limits, especially with bigger loads. I could post a tutorial to correct that if need be,

Hi all,

I figured it out....and I wouldn't have if I had not posted the pictures on this forum. You see, after I posted the pics, I was wondering why one picture was larger than the other even though I used the same upload settings for both in Imageshack. Then I remembered that, for whatever reason, Air Hauler launches Prepar3d in Legacy Mode. Normally that is not a problem but the Just Flight Hawker I was flying just had a service pack issued. The problem is that, even though the basepack aircraft was bought with a Prepar3d installer, the service pack did not have a Prepar3d installer so I had to try to get it installed by using a dummy fsx.exe file in Prepar3d.  That didn't work and screwed something up because that's when this problem began

The point being that somehow in this process, I just figured out that the "normal" running of Prepar3d is different than the "legacy" running with respect to the settings tab. Somehow, in legacy mode, the terrain mesh settings and a few other settings got screwed up. I'm not to clear on the reasons but I matched the settings in legacy to match normal and I'm now back hauling fertilizer without dragging a wing on the pavement :P

Hi Danilo,

I have been running large loads and minumum fuel...but that didn't seem to bother it before. I will look at the load distribution on the next trip. Thanks for the info.

I need to speak to that new ramp crew I just hired :D

Hi Danilo,

I think you solved my mystery. While the legacy mode issue I descibed did mess me up, I did as you suggested and overloaded a flight. Went into load settings and I see where all my freight is all being loaded in the co-pilots seat. I unloaded the freight and assigned it to one of my AI pilots. Obviously my ramp crew needs re-training.

I would very much appreciate that tutorial you offered to fix my issue. I can't figure out where to move that weight to. I can take a screenshot of the Hawker load setting if you need it.

Thanks again,

Bobby

ok....I got it.....jeez, I'm a slow learner.....that's what happens when I spend all day and half the evening running this cargo outfit.

Danilo...you were 100% correct. I figured out how to move freight and now I am over gross but at least it's not all in the co-pilot's seat. Thank you again....you helped me a lot and I appreciate it. :thum:
