  1. Hi Patrick. You have been quirt for a bit, How are you doing?

Hi John, I have been quite lately as I  have been licking my wounds after being scammed out off £400 by the infamous FSXGENIUS but I am still here plodding along.

ps does anyone know why since I installed the PMDG SP1 update my camera views on EZDOC are gone to ratshit especially m y external views I have run EZCA configure

  2. thanks for all the great advice guys but unfortunately by the time I receive it I had given it to him but not before calling my bank and verifying that their was no danger to my account. I still changed all the  log in details including password. obviously I got no refund and no replies to my pleading text's for information. I was prepared to give him the benefit of doubt but no more. He is a conman and a compulsive liar and I will now make a police complaint

  3. thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts but just 30 minutes ago after 72 hours of texts, I finally got an apology and an offer to refund the money. No explanation yet, that line of BS to come later. But he has asked me for my bank account number and sort code for a refund.................should I give it to him?

  4. Money does funny things to people, especially when you're not used to having a lot and then suddenly find a few grand in your account.    Whilst I was never blown away by FSXGenius's YT videos (always seemed to repeat stuff already in the public domain, like basic fsx.cfg tweaks), I agree he certainly didn't come across as a sociopathic monster, as some people would now have you believe.

But he took advance payments on a number of PC builds and used the money to invest in his fledgling business, rather than on supplying the goods that had been ordered.      I believe he had planned to still get the PCs to the customers, but things got out of hand, the money stopped coming in, and before he knew it, he was in deep trouble.

He's now freely admitted all of this himself, so at least he's now being honest about it all.

where Dean has freely admitted it

  5. I am very reluctant to say this, as I have defended Matt all along I had faith in him and naively thought it must be a misunderstanding along the way. Looking back I did not want to believe what I was hearing, but  he has just scammed me out of £400 that I was saving up for a new wheelchair. Being disabled and in a wheelchair, I need lots of help. I got lots of free advice on here but  technically was  not able to put it into practise. Last  week I had a problem and Matt (aka FSX Genius) told me I needed a new graphics card to cope with all my extra add-ons. He told me he would supply and fit a new Nivdia GeForce GTX 780ti graphics card 16 extra mb ram and a liquid cooler all for £400 as he was coming to London anyway. Then suddenly all  communication stooped. Reluctantly as this man is a danger to our community, I am going to report it to the police. But which police force as I as he lives in Leeds, I think. Oh well as they say no fool like an old fool

  6. I must take issue with this, Matt Hardy aka FX Genius has helped me for some time even coming to my house in London from Leeds last Xmasto help me install a multiple monitorset up and EZ  DOC camera. He has helped me install many programs and not once has asked me for a penny. He is a good guy who has had his reputation thrashed. Just remember there are 2 sides to every story

  7. and here's another one for use on your local computer rather than a web-based application.

    http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/18901/fsx-plan-to-route-utility-v10/

EDIT: But considering that you use FS Commander your best bet should be to use that..

From what I remember all you need to do is to specify the folder for your FSX installation in the "Paths" Tab in the Save dialog. Put this in the Folder cell on the row starting with Flight Simulator X, and then tick the PMDG-box on the "Save"-tab, and the file should be saved in the correct folder for use in the NGX. Also, I think the file-name needs to be in the format "DEPICAO""DESTICAO" without spaces.. so a flight plan from London Heathrow to Stockholm Arlanda should be named EGLLESSA

thank you FS Commander worked for me, problem solved

Thanks Stu will get back to you

  10. I'm surprised if PMDG, being the user of the odd flight plan file format, wouldn't provide the capability for converting standard FS flight planes into their format, even though there might be additional fields of data needed by their FMC to be edited in. I don't own any PMDG aircraft (and won't until they get on the P3D bus) so don't know for sure.

    John

thanks John in fact you were my next port of call as I had just read your review of RC written ages ago but unfortunately no mention of FP. I will ask the question over in the RC and PMDG forums on AVSIM

  11. I am In for £5, this is the best place on the web.

I fully agree with you John beyond any shadow  of a doubt, that  this site is the friendliest and best community flight sim site. Before yesterday I was last on here in November as I felt I had exhausted all my learner problem questions on here, but I never gave up and every day for the last 2 years and a lot of help  and tweaks from a simmer called FSXGenius I can now fly my777 anywhere on Earth. My Active Sky is so realistic that the approach to 26L in Palma is a low  viz approach. This baffled me until I realized that the curent infamous  Sahara Sands must have been the culprit. I am trying to learn Radar Contact now..................any advice like having RC ATC come thru on my headset and not computer speakers. as is very difficult to understand.2444

  12. Personally I run two screens without a doublehead2go, and with the setup you describe don't get a doublehead2go. What that does is showing both connected screens as one very wide screen to windows so you will not be able to use one for the main view and one for the overhead... Just manage the two screens within windows. In windows 7 it's dead simple, but I can't say how it works in windows 8 since I don't run that anywhere yet.

Just connect your TV to one output on your graphics card and a second to the 27" screen. The type of cable you need depends on what outputs you have available on your graphics card and on the TV.

A tracker I'd say becomes less useful using two screens the way you intend since some of the stuff you might use the tracker to get to is available on your second screen, but it will make it much easier to look around anyway.. so I wouldn't say it would be redundant. Although considering the lack of 2D panels in the latest PMDG products I'm not sure how FSX will handle things since you most likely will need to have two VC views active at the same time, so you might end up shifting the viewpoint in both active VC views at the same time when you move your head.

Thanks for that Stu, are you saying I will not need Trackir. You have already saved me £150 by telling me that I do not need doublehead2go

  13. I will be getting a new TV for my living room at Christmas. As a result I am going to  move my old TV ( 42" LCD) upstairs for my flight sim in conjunction with this monitor which is 27"

    1. can anyone give me a link to a site which specializes in this
    2. do  I need a doublehead2go link cable
    3. what connectors do I need
    4. I  am going t use the big  monitor for my main screen and the smaller one for overhead panel or any other suggestions welcome
    5. does that mean with  this setup  tracker will become redundant as it was a potential Christmas present
