  1. Cheers guys. Joe, I didn't calculate it so much as leaving it open until the cloud started coming over. Whilst that was happening, I was processing the milky way shot!
  2. Hi All. I figured this would be the right place for these, my recent efforts... Venus at the crack of dawn. http://www.flickr.co...N04/7837881516/ The Morning Sky: Venus (Centre), Jupiter (Upper right) and Orion (Bottom right). http://www.flickr.co...N04/7837900280/ The Plough on the move. http://www.flickr.co...N04/7837906800/ The Milky Way in Cygnus http://www.flickr.co...N04/7838790160/ Hope you enjoy!
  3. The physics is going quite well, I've not yet blown anything up or broken any expensive pieces of equipment which always helps! We also have a 4" telescope at home now, which coupled with my camera should be able to produce some nice results, but I've not used it once this summer due to cloud! It turns out that aircraft and astronomy don't mix, especially when one flies right in front of the thing you're trying to photograph!
  4. Cheers guys, you never know if this rain continues throughout the summer I might get a chance to fly and take some screenshots, if I can remember how!
  5. Hi all, some of you may remember me...! Once upon a time I was a regular simmer and frequented the forums, but unfortunately a degree has got in the way. However, I thought I'd share with you a few of the things that have been keeping me away from my trusted old FS9. Pictures, including cycling, railways, aviation, and astronomy: http://www.flickr.co...s/64632300@N04/ - To jump to a set just go down the right hand side... My family and I followed the Tour de Francec this year: I hope you are all well!
  6. Joe, no tripod! Just very bright conditions, and a lens with IS (Image Stabiliser) which does seem to have a very positive effect.
  7. Hi All! It's been ages but I have just popped in to say hello and share a few snaps. As a late birthday present I got myself a Canon EF-S 55-250mm zoom for my camera, and on the way back up here to Durham for a new term, we stopped off at Manchester for a few shots. It was really the wrong time of day for that viewing area sun-wise, so they are nothing special at all but I thought I'd share a few anyway! Hope you enjoy
  8. Cool stuff, that German tiger Tornado looks angry!
  9. Nice set Kieran. Similar weather to when I was there...fairly standard!
  10. Nice shots! That Finnair, one of my favourite liveries too... I'll be flying in to ESSA in a few weeks time!
  11. Is anyone off to Fairford this weekend? I was working outside yesterday as a B-52 made it's arrival, seen a few fighters coming in too...might pop up on the Monday to watch departs!
  12. I had that one too! Nice a/c as well Kieran, I've got my Maiden t-shirt on at the moment!

Cheers guys! Kieran - Wish we'd had a 67, thrashing it down Lakeland lanes in a minibus at 2.30am was an experience! Dai - The Pyg ascent was pretty crazy and included some running on flatter sections. Not to mention it being the coldest I've ever been! Wiggo's chances in the Tour? Maybe soon I'll get a chance to fire the old FS up and get something in the Screenshot section...
