First flight with the Airbus A350

Today saw the date for the first flight of the new Airbus A350

 

The flight started at 08:00 UTC with flight number AIB350 and is at this time (09:40 UTC) still in progress in the skies of southern France in the area south of the Airbus plant in Toulouse.

Yep - watched it live on the Airbus website. Currently around the Pyrénées at 12950ft/316kts

Missed the takeoff, but thankfully it was possible to rewind in the live feed..

Beautiful, I bet Boeing will be watching with interest! Over 600 ordered so far.........and I bet Airbus have made damned sure the Batteries are well protected! 

I so want this aircraft to succeed, thousands of British and European jobs are depending on it.

I didn't watch the full 5+ hours but did get to see her takeoff. Looked good on the tarmac and during it's first takeoff. I wonder how many individual checks are made during the flight, it looked like a NASA rocket launch with all those people in the flight center.
