You might want to read this article carefully if you're a Win7 user and particularly if you use "Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows".

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't that refer to a Patch back in April ?

Microsoft Urges Windows 7 Users to Uninstall 'Blue Screen of Death' Patch Microsoft today urged Windows 7 users to uninstall a patch shipped earlier this week that has crashed customer's PCs and crippled the machines with endless reboots.

I don't know any more about it but what's in the article I linked.

EDIT: Well, what do you know - I just checked the article and it's got an April 12th date on it that I never noticed.  It popped up on one of the news sites I follow today and I just figured it must be current.  It must have been a slow news day.

  • 2 weeks later...

this is not the first time this has happened in recent months, if you p.c. is working well now, disable updates!!

Disable Windows Updates if you like, but check every few weeks for the latest.

Not installing critical Windows updates is madness. Recipe for disaster.

Optional updates are a different story.

We shouldn't condemn Microsoft, operating systems are VERY complex. There are bound to be the occasional issues.
