mutley 4,498
Well they don't come more random than this... I've spent a lot of time this weekend writing reviews, re-doing web pages and re-installing some FS9 software. On this point Captain Sim were very good in helping me get my Legendary 727 back into the air. Also had to re-install Lukla for my impending flight of doom! I'll shut up now, here they are, FS9 & FSX aircraft old and new. Budapest, 736 ready to taxi to the active. That sun goes down quickly! FSX light bloom in all it's glory. To celebrate the return of the 727 Piedmont taking off from Paris CDG. A legendary Qantas repaint. (Not mine) Checking out Lukla. Soviet Flanker ghosting a Swiss A340 (I think?) Hope you enjoyed, I'm off to judge the screenshot of the week. Cheers
mulletman 0
Very nice. Very nice indeed. :mrhappy: Really love the 737 shots. I might take my 727 for a spin in the future as well. Flanker must have been pretty easy to get out of Lukla. So much power!
ddavid 149
So, Mut, how DID you get that SU-27 into Lukla, eh? In REVERSE :!: :?: Love to see the landing - I almost managed in the default Cessna - it's a b*tch :mrhappy: Cheers - David.
mutley 4,498
Oooh there's an idea. I only started from Lukla, the Flanker was built on site after being smuggled into the country, in a thousand pieces on the backs of Sherpas! Cheers
allardjd 1,853
Mut, that's disappointing! I was hoping for a story about how you shot a back course approach through 10/10ths overcast to minimums, using only an out of calibration VSI and an ADF tuned to a station 50 miles away and your elevator trim stuck full nose-down, with a thunderstorm raging, and freezing rain and a 70 knot crosswind component and gusts to 95. And how you flawlessly performed the famous Cobra manuever to bleed off the last of the airspeed (with a little vodka and yak milk beforehand to keep the courage up and the good judgement down), at 5 meters AGL, right over the threshold, at 2 knots above the stall, with everything down and dirty and one hand on the drogue chute release and the other on the ejection handle - - - - oops, you're out of hands... and airspeed... and altitude... and ideas... and luck. Well, maybe building it there wasn't such a bad option after all. The touchdown would have made a great screen shot though. Pity.
mutley 4,498
John, I guess I don't have such a vivid imagination as you, I think you missed out attempting this at night with only naked candles as runway lights, although that would just be plane silly! Still, I have a landing here coming up soon with leg 13 of the challenge so that should be interesting :mrhappy: Cheers
