ddavid 149
Once is enough - Materhorn it is! A photographic scenery tile from Frank as a taster for his (payware) Northern Italy photo-scenery. Thanks - Dai.

wisemanp 0
John, I'm not sure of the max altitude of the aircraft, but the Matterhorn is only 4478m, so about 14000ft...
ddavid 149
Thanks for that, WM - and, John, I must admit my info on the Aeroprakt A22 'Foxbat' is somewhat limited. Neither sources of specification data mention flight ceiling, see: http://www.foxbat.com.au/a22_foxbat_performance.php and http://www.foxbat.co.uk/spec.htm - however, there's an extremely interesting article on microlights in the Himalayas here: http://www.flymicro.com/everest/index.cfm?page=docs%2FHistory%2FMicrolights.htm where one particular pilot doesn't quite make it over Everest, but Height achieved: Maximum Altitude reached soaring over Ama Dablam: 23,460 feet does pretty well, eh? Thanks for your responses - maybe the original question wasn't so daft...... Cheers - Dai. :eyebrow:
allardjd 1,853
Height achieved: Maximum Altitude reached soaring over Ama Dablam: 23,460 feet does pretty well, eh? That is pretty respectable. Just getting a normally aspirated engine to run at that height is an accomplishment. John
