Kevin Firth 114
Like some of you no doubt I've just got an email from earth Simulations...hot on the heels of my IOM review . If you haven't received the same email here's an extract"What's in store next from ESFull UK in 3DWe have in progress at the moment highly accurate 3D coverage for the whole UK. That means trees, houses (with a huge variety of brand new improved night and day textures), industrial buildings, churches, pylons, wind farms, street lights, and even birds and soundscapes. This product is being created primarily as a whole UK product for the professional market, but we don't want our home based flight sim enthusiast friends to miss out, so as each area is completed we will be making it available to you first at a much reduced cost for your entertainment purposes. Full UK 30cm Photo SceneryWe also have in progress new 30 cm colour enhanced Professional Photographic Scenery for the whole UK. No more washed out colours or ugly lines, just seamless, stunningly vibrant, realistic Photo scenery that's just as beautiful as the real world. We are very aware that most of our home entertainment users will indeed already own Gen X, so with that in mind we have split the coverage areas of the new products to fit the boundaries of your existing photo scenery volumes and areas. Here's a few early Screenshots of the new 30cm photo scenery & 3D - http://earthsimulations.com/shop/showcase/nggallery/product-screenshots/in-the-works-for-2014/JerseyWe know that Jersey is one of the most anticipated products due to be released by ES, as it will complete the Channel Isles series of high definition scenery. Don't worry that with everything else we have going on that Jersey is being neglected, it most certainly isn't. Work is progressing well and we're on track to deliver another stunning destination for your short haul / VFR flights. We'll have some further exiting news about this project for you shortly.Updated Autogen Compatibility Files Now AvailableFiles provide full compatibility between the following developers sceneries. Earth Simulations, Orbx, Sim720,VFR Germany, France VFR, Justflight RevX, Flylogic, French Free Unified Scenery, Occitania (revision 7.0+), Fly Tampa, 29Palms – MykonosX/SkiathosX, 3D Automation, Simulation Data, AutogenFactory...and...A little teaser for you.Whilst we can't say anything much about it just yet ( even though we'd really like to.) Watch out for an exciting announcement coming from us soon... this is a new development that will help to ensure the continued development of UK sceneries from ES long into the future. As a nation we will have the very best flight sim scenery in the world!...mark my words!"
britfrog 180
sounds like they are going to do the same as France VFR is already doing for France except they use 4.5 cms per pixel not 30cms and dont forget Megascenery earth are just about ready to release their UK product. It will be interesting to see the pricing differences.
mutley 4,498
Exciting times for UK simmers for sure. If the link above in Kevin's post doesn't work, try http://earthsimulations.com/shop/showcase/nggallery/product-screenshots/in-the-works-for-2014/ Cheers, Joe

You still have a better climate though K
PCAviator 30
And don't forget that the source imagery will likely be "resampled" to a lower resolution for display in FSX (most often 1.19m/pixel), unless you want massively large files for the coverage area. But, a 30cm/pixel source resampled to 1.19m will give more detail than a 50 or 60cm source resampled... Again, depends how large you want your product download to be! Kevin Firth 114
My understanding is that it will be 30cm native throughout the UK, not re sampled to a lower resolution. It will take some time to cover the whole UK with that though Dean, so I'm still likely pick up MSE England and Wales....thought that woul have been released by now, can you give us a sitrep on that please? Thanks K
Darren 2
Hi Dean Just for the sake of providing accurate information ( not wanting to spar with you ) The ES project is 12.5cm data resampled to 30cm...then colour enhanced....and you're absolutely right...It'll be HUGE!
