mutley 4,498
Turbulent Designs have just opened their website to the public, you may be wondering who they are and what they do? Here is an excerpt from their site... First Class Roots We are three developers from different background who have a common rich history in flight simulation development. We have developed eight airports as a team for other companies, including ORBX simulations, and have individually worked on other FS add-ons prior to that. We are proud of our experience and intend to take that forward to create even more immersive projects for the community. Passionate & Committed Our interest in flight simulation spans several years as enthusiasts before we even considered developing products for the platform. This passion for flight simulation is what drives us to deliver immersive environments to others. In our eyes every details counts, even if you're not going to notice it. We're committed to giving back to this great community not just by providing quality products, but by also helping other interested individuals create their own products. Please visit their site here http://www.turbulentfs.co.uk/ and see what all the fuss is about [end]
allardjd 1,853
Names? Anyone we've heard of before. Good looking stuff in the examples on their site. John
mutley 4,498
Hi John, Yes, you could say they are 'veterans' of scenery design. Two that I know are Greg Jones, ex Development Manager at Sim720 who produced a lot of Orbx scenery and Russ Linn, Ex Sim720 developer as well so quite a pedigree. Russell Linn 17
I thought I recognised that grass... Looks promising, what? Cheers - Dai. Hi ddavid, Just so everyone is aware, no assets from any previous employer are used. When creating Turbulent Designs, we started from the beginning, modelling every asset from scratch. This also includes grass and other vegetation, planes, cars, clutter and of course buildings and textures. Here are a few screenshots of the highly optimized grass assets we have created for our Turbulent Designs airports: Check out our Facebook page for plenty more "behind the scenes" shots. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Turbulent-Designs/599391833447936 Thanks, Russ
ddavid 149
Hi Russ! May I welcome you to the Hangar and apologise for my trite comment re grass. As you will quickly learn, this place isn't known as The Mad House for nothing, however we can be serious, sometimes. I had a quick look at your site and was impressed with your explanation of scenery detail levels. Not had it explained that way before, thanks! Look forward to seeing more... Cheers - Dai. Hey again, Firstly, thank you for the warm welcome, and there's absolutely no reason to apologize! In all honesty we've been looking for an excuse to show off the grass more, as it looks terrific in-game and it performs beautifully. The vegetation is something we're very proud of and we really want people to be happy with their purchase, so we only add things that we truly think will make positive difference to the experience. I'll pass on your compliments to James, our web designer. He's made a fantastic job, and we're really happy about the positive feedback about the explanation of details. He's communicated it very well in his design and we're definitely going to buy him another pint for that! Thanks, Russ

Kind Regards Mike H Thanks for the compliments Mike!As the website hints, look out for us in October. We're looking forward to getting our work out there! Creating airports is a huge hobby of ours but unfortunately the development process of our first batch of airports has been a slow process. Object prep, ideas, finalising a quality standard and implementation are imperative to get right first time as it shapes not only the first airports but the quality standard of our future airport projects. This and personal matters have led to things taking longer than we desired, but stay tuned. We're excited to show you what we've come up with and we're certain you won't be disappointed.
