65 years since the Daring Raid

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Well, tonight (16/17 May) marks 65 years since 'The Daring Raid' took place.

Yes the Dambusters!!!!! :dance2: :dance2:

A Lancaster flew over the Derwnt Dam, followed by a Spitfire and Hurricane. Flight Lieutenant Les Munro, the last 'Buster pilot alive was present, as was Richard Todd (Gibson in 'The Dam Busters' film).

By the way, I'm English, not Irish

That one is famous for a reason. It brought together human courage and human ingenuity in a way seldom seen before or since. War is not to be relished, but it has a way of bringing out some of best in some of the best of us.
