hurricanemk1c 195
Joe - that might be just development costs (such as design). A model train costs about £25,000 to get into production, but many have a target such as raising the money to get a laser scan and CAD models completed (which can be around £5-10,000). Then another target for tooling costs (suprisingly high) etc.

MartinW 0
That doesn't sound enough to me? Just the initial goal for funding, achieved, ahead of schedule. Don't forget, all space missions take decades too plan. Rosetta for example was in the planning 25 years ago.
