MartinW 0
;)A dog can sniff out cancer in human beings and alert the patient. So can a cat... http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2013/11/19/dogs-and-cats-can-detect-illness/ A dog can sniff out illicit drugs. So can a cat. But as cats are free thinking animals, rather than mindless pack animals, they can’t be forced to do menial tasks for human beings. A dog will help a blind person safely to their destination. And also cause 380,000 visits to the emergency room each year in the US. Hearing dogs will alert their master to the door bell and any audible alerts. A cat will do better and actually open the door... Dogs offer unconditional love, they don't bite or scratch just because you stopped petting them. Neither do cats. They don’t bite their owners and send 380,000 to the emergency room, and 6,302 in the UK either. A dog won't wish you were dead. Neither will a cat. But a dog will kill 33 in the US each year. Name a cat that's been banned in the UK? Name a dog that has? A dog helps you stay in shape. Don’t be lazy, help yourself! A dog helps you to be more socialable. By doing a poo on the pavement, weeing up lampposts and dropping a dollop on the verges. A dog can aid With depression. So can cats. http://www.catster.com/lifestyle/cat-behavior-cats-therapy-anxiety-depression-in-kids-children But off course, I love all animals. As "supposedly" the most intelligent species on the planet, it's up to us to preserve the environment and look after the species that inhabit it.
jaydor 345
I too am an all kind of animals lover. But and there is always one of them. I am afraid of "Hissing Sid" especially a 30 foot boa constrictor who will have me for lunch. Oh! and "Ole'salty the croc"
phil white 274
I use Scan as they are only about 4 miles from where I live and have always had good service. I had an RMA once with no problems.
needles 1,013
Thanks Phil for getting this thread back on course.
MartinW 0
It's my thread, I own it. It's my property. I decide it's fate. Evil cat hating moderators who train their killer whippets to attack cats will forever suffer the humiliation of a protracted RMA process with Scan! P.S. Well done to Mr Mutant though for posting a shot from Game of Thrones... that I do approve of.

MartinW 0
And we would care because... It's nice being a moderator elsewhere, and giving other mods a taste of what I've had to put up with. You'd be shocked what I've had to deal with. Muwahahaha! Apparently Scan now have my PSU. I can think of a number of possible scenarios. 1. In short order [they claim 3-5 days] they confirm it's faulty and send me a new one. 2. They confirm it's faulty but send me a second hand refurbished crap one. 3. They confirm it's faulty but don't send me a new one for two weeks, claiming they've "been a bit busy". 4. They deny that it's faulty and send it back to me, charging me 30 quid for the privilege, and I find it is indeed still faulty. I'm sure there are more. Think it was the 26th when I emailed them, so far 6 days, so lets see how long it takes.
needles 1,013
What shoddy customer support. Well, Dabs have informed me that they have dispatched my RAM and have given me a Royal Mail tracking number. When I put this in to the RM tracking system, lo and behold it is not recognised. Which leads me to think......it has yet to be dispatched.???
hifly 925
Think it was the 26th when I emailed them, so far 6 days, so lets see how long it takes. Maybe the cat's got their tongue or they're dogged with communication problems.
MartinW 0
Geoffrey, you have a singular wit. But I really hope it is Geoffrey and not Joffrey from Game of Thrones. I don't like him. Winter is coming! You know nothing John Snow.
MartinW 0
Latest update if anyone's interested. [Probably not] Rang Scan up today, just to be cheeky and chase them up, and... The guy tells me they're refurbishing their returns department, and it could be up to another seven days before I get a replacement. Grrrrrrr! So that would be 15 days total. I'm sure it must contravene some kind of human rights act or something, to deny someone access to their flight sim. Anyway, I thought sod that, and ordered a new PSU. I plan top build a new PC after I move house, so I'll have the Seasonic [if it returns] for that. Or the other way round.
MartinW 0
What shoddy customer support. Well, Dabs have informed me that they have dispatched my RAM and have given me a Royal Mail tracking number. When I put this in to the RM tracking system, lo and behold it is not recognised. Which leads me to think......it has yet to be dispatched.??? You seem to have done better than me and Scan. It's now the 9th and still no replacement PSU. I've had two emails from them over the weekend. One conforming "purchase", and one confirming it's been picked for delivery. I've given them no authorisation for purchase, so I assume they're just using their standard workflow, system thingy. And they're using it "confusingly" for returns. Of course, an email stating it was indeed faulty and a replacement is on the way would have been much better. So far it's now 14 days. P.S. Same happened top me with the RMA tracking. Entered the invoice number and returns number and no... nothing on Scan's sytem.
jaydor 345
You need to send them a notification and ask them to change their name to "SCAM"
MartinW 0
Ha, good idea! I like it. Still nothing. 15 days now. The two emails the other day and that's it. I wouldn't be surprised if it just turns up, no warning. I've had that before with RMA's.
MartinW 0
Final instalment... Due to be delivered today. So that's 17 days in total. It's not so much the delay that bugs me, it's the lack of communication. Apparently it was checked and deemed faulty... but they didn't tell me! And apparently there were none in stock so there was a delay... but they didn't tell me! I had to post on the Scan forum to find all this out. Good news is that I do get a brand new PSU. mutley 4,498
Lack of communication really bugs me too, one reason to consider purchasing elsewhere.
britfrog 180
in recent times I have bought all my computer stuff from Amazon, not only do i get a trouble free returns policy but a phone call , sms and email telling me when to expect delivery to the hour!! it is all about prfessionalism Scan dont have that, however it is a pity amazons tax payers dont have the same professionalism
MartinW 0
To be honest, this is the first time I've had issues with Scan. But then again, this is my first RMA. It may be a one off. I usually use OCUK or Amazon, never any issues with OCUK RMA's. The returned PSU is functioning perfectly. I was going to save it for my next build, but think I may flog it, if anyone wants a brand new PSU for a good price.
