hurricanemk1c 195
Hi all! Yes, post number 300. I remeber post 1, and heres the link - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1056 - before Snapper! So, how many UK airlines have reached 40? Many, but how many of these have kept the same name? Not many. To be precise, Loganair, Monarch, British Midland (although known to me as bmi British Midland) and Aurigny. Monarch has gone through alot. It started with just 300 emploees, 18 engineers and 2 Bristol Britannias. Formed due to the capacity problems on the IT markets, it has succesfully made a change to counter the low-cost airlines. Adapting many of the low-cost pricinpals, bar the bad service. It now has a mixed fleet of 32 aircraft, made of Airbus A300, A320, A321 and A330s and Boeing 757 and 767s. It hopes to have 6 Dreamliners by 2015, so that it can withdraw the A300 and A330. Anyway, back to the point. To celebrate both Monarch's 40th and my 300th post, why not a flight from Airvuse HQ, Tolouse/Blangac, to Monarchs HQ, London/Gatwick. The crew, expecting the A300 to be repainted into the 1968 livery, were dissapointed. It had just made the 2 hour flight for a overhaul. Everything open, as both Airbus and Monarch crews walk towards the aircraft Time to shut up the cargo doors Now shutting the doors Engine 1 spooling Needing to turn, as I'll ram the Air France CRJ/Embraer Engine 2 turning Needing to stop I thought that 'e'll move 'way Taxi Zat Boeing 757, they should be replaced by our 'eautiful aircraft Turning to runway 33R Unmistakably Airbus! That queue  BAe 146 Cessna So small Check out the flaps! I thought 146 engines were small  Engine from the cabin Jumpin' the queue A310-600? The pilot and co-pilot are reading seperate copies of the latest Airliner World, amazed by how old this aircraft is At the front Line up and wait Lined up Engines - normal at full Release the brakes Nearly, V1 Rotate, V2 Climbing Saying goodbye to all the A380s the crew saw in the trip Gear Up!
