Just cuz...itty oditty haulers.

Recommended Posts

Odd sorts of things I fly in Airhauler...just cuz I can.

Itty bitty planes are not profitable in Airhauler money wise, but for reputation they are a blast for short or even long hauls for rush bits of jewelery, documents, etc...like my AussieBede outfitted with inside cockpit courier document bags:

It just makes screaming over reddish brown stuff more fun.

Having little planes in my fleet also generates a few/lots (depending on slider settings for number of jobs and job size) of small cargos that can either be carried by my mini plane, or I throw several onto one of the larger planes and knock out a bunch of rep runs in one mission, and get several legs and thus landings to do...my favorite part is landings anyhow so the more the merrier per FSX load.

Ryan ST, can cram quite a bit of odd sized junk in that front cockpit:

Super Cub, Super Fun...and Very practical in many locations, like NZ here, but also a great mini fun hauler for flatter terrains too.

Gobs more odditties in my hangar that I use, I might add more later...feel free to add some of your own weird and or wonderful favorites below here.

Cheers.

Yeah Wain...it suits the way my brain is wired: It gets bored easily...so I need to constantly mix it up to stay interested, poke around a new area, try out a new plane, try something crazy (see my landing a Super Cub on Helipad video for example :)  )

Then, some days I just want to fly the Waterman Aerobile "flying tool shed" across the bay, with a load of tools.

The IRIS bede I use is a terrific little flying thing, and comes with the prop version as well, which is much easier on the fuel wallet, and not that much slower, but frankly I prefer the jet sound and look so fly the jet mostly. Very quick response of course, so a delicate touch is required with it. But once you get used to it, greasing landings is quite routine. And it is a fantastic way to knock out a small "Fragile" load.

Thanks for that Video share...that opening music always send chills up the spine...so nostalgic. :D

I love how they start shooting shortly after he has passed over on take off...by the time they picked their asses off the ground, James would have been in the next county in that little screamer. hehe. Movies...sigh....lets not even get into the Hangar scene...omg..."apparently indeed".

Super cub what a plane! May I ask where the last image was taken? (The last one with the cub) Cheers

Both those cub shots were caught during an Airhualer trip between Milford Sound NZ, and Queenstown. There are a few winding gorges one can pick from to crest over the mountains between. The exact spot? not sure...there is a small grass strip just ahead...my guess it is near "Walter Peak".

cheers.

It was the grass strip that was of interest to me - looks good for some GA trips with those mountains too - thanks

A nice set of shots of a rather weird selection of aircaft (apart from the Super Cub that is, now that's a classic). :thum:
