needles 1,013
What's wrong with wifey's nail varnish that I've coloured my keys in? Same difference from what I can see.

needles 1,013
I have since looked at the website Joe and I am really interested in the photoshop keyboard. As you know I have built my panel for FS so I use the keyboard very rarely now, but for Photoshopping, I may look into the keyboard further. They appear to be very well made and from the brief look I had, they appear to be well thought out and easy to use. Very interesting idea. Cheers
mutley 4,498
The keyboard quality is superb, I am using one now. As mentioned a review is on its way but I need to test it for a while longer.

Andrew Godden 943
Who uses a keyboard to that extent with FSX these days anyway...this sort of thing went out with the Ark.
mutley 4,498
Who uses a keyboard to that extent with FSX these days anyway...this sort of thing went out with the Ark. I am as old as the ark so I'll hold my hand up to that question, I use it a lot! Unfortunately I have come across a few issues with the keyboard and I'm waiting for feedback from the developer. I am as old as the ark so I'll hold my hand up to that question, I use it a lot! Unfortunately I have come across a few issues with the keyboard and I'm waiting for feedback from the developer. It's just that with the extensive use of clickable VCs and/or various 3rd party panel hardware options these days, they have greatly reduced the use of the keyboard in FSX. hlminx 301
I could to with a 1/3rd size keyboard...there just isn't any room left on my desk for a full size one. Nice idea though to have it backlit
SEATAC 400
Interesting. I have been using Logitech backlit gaming keyboards for years. Wonderful for night time and it has two levels of red backlighting as well as an off mode and costs about half the price of this one. This one seems good for beginners who don't know the short cuts for FSX. I think once you use it for a while all of the short cuts become second nature. That is why I have invested my money on Saitek panels and yokes and throttle quadrants. I'll use the keyboard when it is the most efficient way of doing things such as opening doors and cargo holds, quickly switching views and interacting with ATC. On the other hand, it's good to see continued support for FSX.
allardjd 1,853
For flight simming I've always considered using the keyboard a mood-breaker and try to avoid it with things like voice activated commands, dedicated flight sim hardware, etc. Not taking anything away from the developer and vendor who market this, but for my flight simming experience I want less keyboard, not more. Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
I totally agree, John. I too have always felt that having to use the keyboard is a huge "immersion-breaker" (there's no satisfactory expression for it) so I also do my best to arrange things in such a way that I don't have to. But for those who still vly FSX with no hardware or other add-ons, perhaps such a keyboard might have a role? It takes all sorts, I suppose.... allardjd 1,853
But for those who still vly FSX with no hardware or other add-ons, perhaps such a keyboard might have a role? I agree entirely with that thought. FS has a wide range of users with varying preferences, budgets, knowledge of aviation, tolerance for un-realistic things, etc. This keyboard is no doubt a fine tool for many of them and if I implied it has no place in the flight sim world I certainly didn't intend to give that impression. wain 879
Saw it yesterday, it was ok, nice and colourful with shortcuts etc but not for me. Like previous people have said with the Saitek panels, yokes etc some of us want less keyboard. However could be useful for the new simmer....I already have a madcatz backlit keyboard that cost forty quid and that is good enough for me.. Wayne

Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
Hmm, I think it's valid to have doubts about the *concept* sight unseen, though, Joe? That's not to opine that "...it has no place in the flight sim world...", just that It wouldn't necessarily fit in with everyone's way of zimming. Pretty colours notwithstanding. Cheers, B.
