mutley 4,498
That still has to be the sexiest wing shape ever and yourrepaint shows it off so well
Captain Coffee 2,030
Coolest spit paint ever...but maybe cuz im US and a bit biased...but mainly cuz i Love bare metal. Looks like someone mated a Spitfire and a Mustang... "The Spitstang has her Dam's fine lines, and her Sire's LiverEyes."
wain 879
Yep really nice...like it..Spitstang eh? Cool name....
jankees 917
thank you, yes, I like this scheme too. So I'll try to make it really nice, still sorting the details, plus I'm not yet happy with the metal...we continue. Meanwhile, a few more in progress shots (or should I take this to the repaint forum?)
dodgy-alan 1,587
Very unusual, I like it.
wain 879
Love how it catches the light looks really good....whilst I was cleaning some 5th floor windows I thought mire of Matts morphed name I reckon a Mustfire would be good...great name for a combat aircraft....I like how u have period dressed people in shot 1... UKJim 502
I love how in some lights it actually looks as though the metal has been beaten out with a hammer - superb
jankees 917
thank you! here's a few shots of the latest version: better, or do you prefer the previous one?
wain 879
Last one less shiney which i guess is how they should be...shape shine silhouette and all that..
dolf8857 640
Looking good in bare suit too JK, Nice shots!
Captain Coffee 2,030
I really really love that you left the tail control surfaces, and anti glare on the nose "Camo"...such a great detail that helps sell that Spit/Mustang crossbreed image in my head. Any chance you could put this paint, or similar (different registration maybe?), on the A2A Spitfire as well? By the way...is this an actual aircraft? Or a "what if" livery? jankees 917
No, this was a real aircraft. and a2a, I did that one a while ago. Currently on the road, so you'll have to look for it on ozx yourself, but it should be there.
Captain Coffee 2,030
No, this was a real aircraft. and a2a, I did that one a while ago. Currently on the road, so you'll have to look for it on ozx yourself, but it should be there. Thank you sir! Found it and a few more interesting paints by you while there...grabbed a few of the non-camo paints...blues, and silvers...neat stuff.
Captain Coffee 2,030
One from Pago Pago last night. Thanks Jan! It was a bit warm there, and fought the cooling the whole trip...not much Heat headroom for the taxi so I pulled in steaming While I was at the OZx site getting the paint...I looked for your P40 work and was pleased to find this one very similar to EP-A scheme there...just wondering though...are the wheels supposed to be spray painted the same color as the underside of the wings? jankees 917
eeeh...no, they should not? I'm away from home, but I'll look at it when I get home again later this week. Nobody complained so far though? maybe a missing file?
jankees 917
I checked, and mine has black wheels as it should, so I am not sure what is the trouble with your version? Do you have all 6 texture files and 6 spec files in the 'texture.JK_41-13442' folder? meanwhile, work continues on the bare metal spit: First, I made the spec a bit lighter: so it reflects brighter colors, and then I started scratching the metal, hopefully in a subtle way: subtle enough? and a view from the cockpit: even in the shade the wing gives the impression of being bare metal, or at least I think so. Do you agree?
Captain Coffee 2,030
Might be a file missing from the download??? This is all of them (I re-downloaded the compressed file and re-0extracted to make sure). The Spitfire is looking terrific! Edit: This is resolved...Jan is such a prolific painter, I didn't realize there were two A2A versions of the P40, WOP3 and Shockwave..I have WOP3 and had inadvertently (pc for Stupidly) downloaded the shockwave. Doh. Thanks for sorting me out Jan.
