Running PMDG 737NG with Vista

Recommended Posts

I have tried to use the PMDG 737NG with the VISTA OS. from what I understand the graphics format that was used by PMDG is no longer supported by Microsoft. But recently I have seen some evidence that some persons are using it possibly with Vista. Can anybody shed anymore light on this or is my 737 headed for the scrap yard?

Hi Chan,

I think the majority here are still running in XP so it's difficult to answer this one.

However, in the PMDG wiki http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PM ... _Vista_FAQ they say that there should be no problems with the download versions of their software so it looks as though it is worth a go :shrug_no:

Cheers

Thanks MutThe PMDG 737's have been saved from the Arizona graveyard. I followed the instructions from the website and performed every operation as Administrator. When I first started up FS9 after installing the PMDG aircraft my PC let out a sigh and I was notified that Vista was shutting the PC down to protect it from something terrible???? Then everything went black. When I restarted everything was fine. The only problem (which I can live with) is when I click on the PMDG drop down tab the screen goes black and it takes some work to recover and the drop down dialog box is briefly seen. With Vista every zip and installer file must be unblocked by right clicking

then clicking on properties then clicking "UNBLOCK". I checked out the aircraft by flying thru tropical storm Fay which was heading my way from south Florida. Hopefully all we'll get is some rain.

Thanks again.

Chan

Thanks for the feedback Chan,

These things are sent to try us but worth it for the like of PMDG!

I am going to have to get Vista one day and I am dreading it with the amount of software and add ons I have.

I have been following the track of Fay and really pleased for you guys that it passed south.

Cheers
