Pembrokeshire Agricultural Show.....

Recommended Posts

The Pembrokeshire Show attracts almost as many visitors as the Royal Welsh - but is much more friendly and accessible - well, to Pam and me, anyway! It's also held on the tarmac of Haverfordwest International (EGFE), covering most of 03/21.

Today it was wet - and I mean wet, even for Wales! There was mud everywhere - even on the raised walkways and in the tents. If you didn't have wellies - you had wet, brown socks!

Anyway, a few 'snaps'-

Here's one vintage tractor for John:

And a couple of horsey ones for you know who, Boss-

The first of a delightful Mare and Filly:

And a pair of matching 'heavies':

In amongst the trade stands, we found this:

WelshSpitfirefusilage.jpg

It's the fusilage of an old Australian A.F. Spitfire, which is being restored by the Welsh Spitfire Company Ltd at Haverfordwest. More details here:

The chap in the photo is Ray Burgess, I think, and it was Ray's Scottish Aviation Bulldog that I went up in last year. Ray's quite a character! More information as I get it.

Cheers - Dai. :dance2:

Great shots Dai

Going to the Haverfordwest show was always one of the highlights of my year as a child! Unfortunately I haven't been able to attend for the past few years.

My grandparents were there today too, fortunately they went prepared with wellies :dance2:

Martyn,

You were only a child for a year? That's incredible! That must have saved your parents a fortune. :dance2:

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Great photos, Dai!

Who'd have expected to see a Spitfire (or at least a large piece of one) at an affair like that. I enjoyed the shot of the old tractors too. They appear to be in fine shape.

John
