737 Vs GE-90

Recommended Posts

Apparently the GE-90 engine is roughly the same diameter and size I would say of a 737 fuselage. Here is a picture of the mechanics at LHR in the late 90's positioning a 737 near the engine of a GE-90 777 to show this. http://myaviation.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00130585&size=medium

So I thought why not give it a go in FS, I used a Continetal 777 GE-90 aircraft and a BA 737-400 at the same maintenance location at LHR:

Wow. That is quite amazing. I have recently travelled on a BA 734 and they seem reasonably big inside, with rows of 3 and 3. I think to really appreciate the size of that engine, however, you need to stand next to one!
