Their innovative blending of an originally in-line powered airframe with a large 2-row radial engine.  It was considered effective, but was only produced in small numbers, late in the war.

That's right, the KI-100 was arguably one of the best fighters of WW2, however they arrived too late to effect the outcome of the Pacific war. Still a nasty surprise for the allied pilots that encountered them though.

That's probably a bit of a stretch since it lacked a good supercharger, though it may have been among the best Japanese fighters of the war.  A late-war prototype corrected that, but only a handful of those were built and none of them saw operational use.

Great shots Alan - you got trigger happy on the 'V' key aye :) hehe all good here though, great set!

While on a scenic flight I am also Vkey trigger happy... I tend to trash can about 11 gigs of screen shots every couple of months...yet post only about 200 megs worth on forums. Reviewing, figuring out a story-line/reason to post them, renaming and then uploading/posting them, takes so long that I Edit heavily at that point...like to leave myself some time to write the story. :D.

but whatever, that's just me...I love seeing what you all are doing no matter what your style of posting is...rock on all.

( I have learned to adjust to Alan's style by only opening his screen shot posts while at home on the desktop...cheers Alan...I always only see your's in Full Rez!! :D )

I too trash dozens of screenies that I don't like. Hundreds have never seen the light of day. For each set I publish there are probably about 200 original V shots taken.
