wain 879
I have had this for a while, but things have got so busy that I have not really used her much. Gone through the tutorial a few times now, written my 'flows' to help me along the way and I am really enjoying this one....here are a number of shots of her in action...... Thanks for viewing..... hifly 925
Very nice Wayne.I wish there was a decent 340 for FSX.
UKJim 502
Cool - looks great - enjoy flying her bud!
dodgy-alan 1,587
Nicely caught, always liked this little feederliner, the 340 is an interesting aircraft as it was a built in collaboration with Fairchild. There are apparently 347 of them still in service out of the 459 aircraft built. The youngest ones are now 17 years old and newer aircraft are slowly replacing them.
wain 879
Thanks guys, yep this is a great plane....some more shots below...I flew from Geneva just learning the way it works...picked up LIPC(?) on the GPS...descended to 1000ft then in by hand....not learned ILS yet but the landing was fine..... had to pause to get this one, forgot the landing lights even though they were on the CL... all parked at LIPC...where ever that is....park brake was on but it didnt believe me.... Like their cars Al, they go on for years.
dodgy-alan 1,587
Indeed they do, Always wanted a 900 turbo, but by the time I could afford one most of them were either scrapped or exceedingly expensive classic cars! You rarely see them come up for sale.
Captain Coffee 2,030
They also have rather nice lines...really good looking aircraft. I hope a good one becomes available for FSX, It looks like a great 30 seater.

You rarely see them come up for sale. 20 year ago I was buying 900 turbos for under a grand. solid, fast, reliable and comfortable. The ride was like flying, no wonder it was a favourite with airline pilots. The last 93 I had for two years, cost £500, my SAAB man gave me £500 for it when I traded it for my current 95 estate. I'm not a petrol head but they are wonderful cars. Yes, a 340 for FSX would be good.

Jess-b 420
Saabs were and are great cars. My last couple of cars have been saabs, and prior to moving, a 19 year old Saab 9000 gave excellent service, and with just 237,000 on the clock. My old Saab 900 had over 200,000 on the clock. Both still run and go like hell.
hifly 925
I got up to 215,000 on a 900 before I sold it for the price I paid for it.
Jess-b 420
The advantage of saabs these days. Cheap to buy, so you never lose on 'em. My 900 cost £250 and my 9000, £290. Had years of motoring out of them.
hifly 925
Bought my first 900 from a guy who specialised in them, he sold his business to another SAAB head and been buying from him ever since. Always get a good deal and has plenty of spare parts but I rarely need them, the only problem will be when the spares dry up in 2085. He had a beautiful black 900 Aero convertible last time I was there, drool! SAAB also made some mean military aircraft too. Edited September 25, 2016 by hifly
