SEATAC 400
All of the crew were safe, but we may have lost another classic airliner. I often watch the planes landing and taking off here. They have two great viewing areas. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/sfl-fedex-cargo-plane-catches-fire-at-fort-lauderdale-airport-20161028-story.html Built in 1972 as a DC-10 passenger aircraft and converted to an MD-10-10F for FedEx. The landing gear collapsed upon touchdown and the left engine and wing burned. I hope it is salvageable. Would be a shame to lose another one of these. (This image is not the actual aircraft itself )

SEATAC 400
If anyone is interested, here is some footage taken airport employees as the plane is burning and skidding to a stop. Some of the guys get pretty close and 1:30 in, there is an explosion and debris flying skyward just as the emergency vehicles arrive. Pretty dramatic Edited November 6, 2016 by SEATAC
brett 2,316
They sure were lucky, I have seen worse outcomes to crashes like that.
