dodgy-alan 1,587
JBKs excellent Douglas DC-6. American Airlines flight departing Glasgow for La Guardia. Fling over the Western isles and across the North coast of Ireland. Chasing the sunset as she heads out across the North Atlantic. Next landfall will be Newfoundland in Canada. Autopilot set and time for a coffee! These are just a small(ish) number of the 30+ originally captured. Thanks for flying American. Thanks for viewing Edited December 11, 2017 by dodgy-alan
phil white 274
Great shots, how long is the total flight time?

I'm not sure, but after 3 1/2 hours I was just short of halfway across. At that point it was getting late and I needed to sleep, but given the fuel burn and average speed of around 250 kts I would imagine landfall in another 4 hours. The aircraft would need to refuel in Canada before continuing down the East coast of the USA.
Captain Coffee 2,030
Nice shots Alan. I have not yet actually flown a Transatlantic nor TransPacific flight in FSX yet. I keep thinking I should do a SFO to Honolulu trip, but watching ocean for 3-4 hours on a computer monitor just doesn't have the same reward at the end as in RL...a Hawaiian vacation.

I tend to knock out an episode or two of a TV show on my 7" pad while I use the desktop for FSX Airhauler'in some cargos locally...the desktop can't handle all three running at the same time (plus weather and TrackIR ) these days. 4+ hours on the small pad screen is tooo small for my aging eyes, and an ocean crossing is too big for my aging patience. ps...actualy now that I think of it...I have crossed the Atlantic, but it was a ferry flight in a F106 crossing from Greenland to Ireland...kind of a Gap Hop more than an Ocean Crossing. wain 879
I always tell myself I will recreate a ferry flight like I have seen on the tv but have never got around to it.....
