dodgy-alan 1,587
Many thanks to Rosario for this excellent little addition . Bognor Airfield is a privately owned strip just to the north of the town alongside the railway. It is home to the Bognor Regis Gliding Club and is owned by a family friend. More info here; https://www.brgc.co.uk/ Thanks for viewing and thanks again to Rosario. IZ0JUB 162
That's good local information Alan, sorry about the blackberries, as a matter of interest where would the static gliders be and I can edit the objects. Cheers Mike.
dodgy-alan 1,587
A few more taken from the strip Approaching EGHR even with min fuel and no freight the C130 could not get airborne within the length! LOL.

Cheers Mike. Most aircraft are parked around that little side apron. there was a hangar there many years ago but that was demolished. The new owners are planning on replacing the parked RV with a proper clubhouse. On checking the photos again I realised that you're not on the brambles but at the end of the grass strip which is rarely used. the brambles are alongside the railway. and on that little bank which can be seen in the photos. That bank incidentally is a man made feature and in fact covers a hazardous waste deposit that was put there by LEC refrigeration who used to own the site. By all accounts some of it is radioactive hence it has not been disturbed as yet. It remains a hazard for gliders approaching 05 as it comes very close to their wingtips. However the CAA do not deem it a hazard bad enough to forbid flying. Most aircraft however arrive and depart via 23 if possible as on take off they are well clear of the hump by the time they get near it.

A bit of a pain as my PC seems to have lost the original file and the airfield has vanished from my sim scenery! Do you or anyone else have a current copy please.
